2026 ALNNJ H.S. Student Scholarship Application
All candidates are required to submit completed forms and applications no later than TUESDAY MAY 12, 2026 at 5PM. See https://alnnj.org/ALNNJ_Scholarships for additional information and mail in applications.
All scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee of AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey. Please review all of the requirements on this application and don't forget to click the "SUBMIT" button when finished. If you do not click the "SUBMIT" button, we will not receive your application.

Architecture Schools
ALNNJ Scholarships are available for students attending an NAAB accredited architecture school in Fall 2026. Please check with www.naab.org to confirm that your architecture school is eligible. Students pursuing an undergraduate 5 year professional architecture degree and students pursuing undergraduate architecture students on a 4+2 path are eligible. If you are waitlisted for any schools, you need to include that information on the form. Note that checks will be paid directly to the school and it is your responsibility to inform the ALNNJ Scholarship Committee if your status changes. Only students attending NAAB accredited architecture schools are eligible for this scholarship.
Residency Requirements
Scholarships from AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey are only available for students with a home address in Bergen, Hudson, Passaic or Sussex County in New Jersey.
Transcript and Recommendation Letter Notes
Some schools and institutions require direct delivery of their transcripts and/or recommendation letters. The Scholarship Committee prefers that you upload all transcripts using this form, however if third party rules prohibit this, you can do the following as an alternate:
- Instead of directly uploading the transcript or recommendation letter below, you must instead upload a letter (PDF or Word/Document Format) stating that the transcript will be submitted by a third party, please include their name and contact information in this letter.
- The third party must upload their transcript or recommendation letter using a separate Form which can be found at this link: https://alnnj.org/form.php?form_id=89&c=1
NOTE: Any third party transcript or recommendation letter MUST be uploaded prior to the deadline. Transcripts submitted after the deadline or emailed separately to the Scholarship Committee will not be considered, and sending only a link to a transcript will not be accepted.
Your Essay
Your essay should explain in your own words what you hope to accomplish as an architect. If applicable, include information about your financial situation and how a scholarship from AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey can help you realize your goals. It is preferred that essays are kept short and should be less than one page, if possible. Files must be PDF or Word/Document format only.
Upload Examples of Your Work (Your Portfolio)
Applicants must include FIVE examples of your work, each formatted to an 8-1/2"x 11" PDF or image file. Examples can include personal artwork, drawings, graphics, photographs and/or architectural design projects. Applicants are encouraged to include diverse examples of their work; creativity in content and presentation is strongly encouraged. This can be a single PDF file, multiple PDF files or multiple image files. Please limit your total file uploads to 95 MB or less. You are limited to FIVE examples of your work. If you include more than five examples, only the first five examples will be considered.
Notification
All applicants will be notified via email when the ALNNJ Scholarship Committee has made award decisions, which is expected no later than early June. Scholarship recipients will be presented certificates by AIA Architects League of Northern New Jersey in person at our monthly meeting on THURSDAY JUNE 18, 2026 at 6PM. Scholarship recipients will be notified in advance and invited to attend this meeting with up to two additional guests. Checks are expected to be sent directly to the school during July after information (such as Student ID and college scholarship payment information) is provided- all scholarship awards are paid directly to the college.
