Join us on Monday, April 13, at the Ridgewood Public Library for a screening of My Architect: A Son’s Journey, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, Nathaniel Kahn, moderated by Stacey Ruhle Kliesch, AIA.

This event is free and open to the public and is presented in celebration of AIA Architecture Week.

A light reception will be held from 5:15-6:00 PM, with the screening beginning at 6:00 PM.

AIA Members will receive 2.5 LUs with registration and attendance. 

About the Film

This Academy Award–nominated documentary tells the story of legendary architect Louis Kahn through the eyes of his son, Nathaniel, who grew up largely unaware of his father’s life and work. The film traces Nathaniel’s journey around the world, visiting Kahn’s most celebrated buildings, including the Salk Institute, the Kimbell Art Museum, and the Yale Center for British Art, and speaking with architects, colleagues, and collaborators who knew him, including Frank Gehry, I. M. Pei, and Philip Johnson. Alongside his architectural achievements, the film explores Kahn’s complex personal life, including his relationships with three families, and reflects on the legacy he left behind when he died in 1974.
