The program includes tours of Magazzino Italian Art and Bannerman Island, an exclusive architectural tour of the new Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center led by Studio Gang, and an evening performance of Les Misérables at Hudson Valley Shakespeare.

Begin the day with a guided tour of Magazzino Italian Art, a museum and research center dedicated to postwar and contemporary Italian art.

Participants may purchase lunch at Café Silvia at Magazzino Italian Art or select another nearby option.

Arrive in Beacon

Arrive at the Beacon Metro-North Train Station, where participants will park before boarding the ferry to Bannerman Island.

Beacon is approximately a 19-minute drive from Magazzino Italian Art.

2:00–4:30 PM

Bannerman Island Tour — 1.5 LU|HSW

Travel by boat to Bannerman Island for a guided tour of this historic Hudson River landmark.

The boat departs promptly at 2:00 PM. Please do not be late.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare is approximately a 23-minute drive from Beacon.

5:00–6:00 PM

Exclusive Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center Tour — 1 LU|HSW

Enjoy an exclusive tour of the new 451-seat open-air theater led by Teo Quintana, Senior Project Leader in Studio Gang’s New York office.

Picnic Dinner

Participants are strongly encouraged to pre-order a picnic to enjoy on the Hudson Valley Shakespeare grounds before the performance.

Performance of Les Misérables

Conclude the day with an evening performance of Les Misérables at Hudson Valley Shakespeare.

Important Information

Transportation between locations is not provided. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, parking, lunch, and picnic dinner.

Admission to Magazzino Italian Artl, the Bannerman Castle Cruise & Walking Tour, and the performance of Les Misérables is included in the ticket price.

Because the Bannerman Island boat departs promptly at 2:00 PM, participants should allow sufficient time for travel and parking.

Meet the Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center Presenter: Teo Quintana, Senior Project Leader, Studio Gang

Teo Quintana is a Senior Project Leader in Studio Gang’s New York office working on cultural, residential, and public projects. He helped lead the design of the recently completed Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center at Hudson Valley Shakespeare, and is currently working on One Delisle, a new residential tower in Toronto. Previous projects include work on the Studio’s Crime Prevention Through Community Design and Problem Solving study and the United States Embassy Brasília. Teo is trained in both architecture and urban design, studying at Princeton University before earning his Master’s degree at the Yale School of Architecture
